Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Here are today’s stars: Cheongjeongwon Yashik-iya ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’ and ‘Barshak-hage-twigyeot-dak’! The Cheongjeongwon Yashik-iya Whole Chicken line comes in a total of 5 delightful flavors.

Step 2

I’ve opened and plated the two types of frozen whole chicken. The portions are quite generous, making them perfect for sharing. Even while frozen, the ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’ has a vibrant red color that really awakens the appetite!

Step 3

Looking at them up close, they appear even more delicious. Since they are whole pieces of chicken, they should be satisfying to eat and convenient to handle. Now, before my hunger grows any further, let’s get cooking and transform these into a wonderful night snack! ^_^

Step 4

Alright, to create a delicious night snack using ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’ and ‘Barshak-hage-twigyeot-dak’, let’s first go over all the ingredients you’ll need!

Step 5

First, we’ll prepare the ‘Barshak-hage-twigyeot-dak’ using an air fryer to make it extra crispy. Place all the frozen ‘Barshak-hage-twigyeot-dak’ pieces into the air fryer basket.

Step 6

Set the air fryer to 200°C (390°F) and cook for 18 minutes. You can skip using parchment paper if you like. The product instructions suggest that cooking for over 18 minutes can result in an even crispier coating! If you’re short on time, 15 minutes of cooking is also sufficient. Out of curiosity, I opened the air fryer midway through, and the chicken was indeed browning beautifully and frying nicely. ^^

Step 7

Here’s the visual of the chicken after cooking for exactly 18 minutes! It looks perfectly crisp, just like freshly fried chicken. This completes the cooking for ‘Barshak-hage-twigyeot-dak’!

Step 8

We’ll be plating the ‘Barshak-hage-twigyeot-dak’ with a fresh lemon. One whole lemon is needed.

Step 9

Rinse the lemon thoroughly under cold running water, then slice it thinly. The bright citrus will add a refreshing note to the chicken.

Step 10

Now, let’s move on to cooking the ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’. To enhance the spiciness, I’m adding 25 dried chili peppers, known as Peperoncino!

Step 11

Break the Peperoncino peppers in half. Cooking them with the seeds included will significantly boost the heat level. This step is essential for those who love a fiery kick!

Step 12

We’ll cook the ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’ in a frying pan. Add a generous amount of cooking oil to the pan, and turn the heat to medium (gas stove). Once the oil is heated, add the chicken pieces.

Step 13

Now, add all the ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’ to the pan and cook until both sides are nicely browned. Ensure the chicken is cooked through completely.

Step 14

Cook for about 8 minutes. You’ll notice the chicken, which was frozen, becoming even redder as it cooks. It looks incredibly appetizing!

Step 15

Once the chicken pieces are browned, add all 25 broken Peperoncino peppers to the pan. Stir well to combine everything and continue to stir-fry! You’ll start to smell that wonderful spicy aroma.

Step 16

If you don’t have Peperoncino, feel free to omit it. And just like that, the ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’ is also ready to be enjoyed!

Step 17

Now, let’s plate these delicious cooked chickens attractively. First, arrange the crispy ‘Barshak-hage-twigyeot-dak’ in a pleasing circular pattern on the plate.

Step 18

Pile a generous amount of fresh, crunchy shredded scallion salad (pa-chae muchim) in the center. Everyone knows that shredded scallions and fried chicken are a match made in heaven, right? ^^

Step 19

Artfully place the sliced lemon around the edge of the plate for a splash of freshness. Finally, sprinkle some parsley flakes over the chicken for a touch of color. The parsley flakes are optional, so you can skip them if you prefer.

Step 20

Serve the ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’ separately on a dish. Its spicy and savory appearance is already making my mouth water.

Step 21

Of course, chicken and beer are an inseparable duo! Enjoy your second round of night snacks with chicken and beer. Lighting up some IKEA candles will enhance the cozy night snack atmosphere even more. ^^ And there you have it – a complete and satisfying night snack spread featuring ‘Yashik-iya Whole Chicken’!

Step 22

The combination of crispy fried chicken and refreshing shredded scallions is truly unbeatable! The crispiness of ‘Barshak-hage-twigyeot-dak’, with its intact coating, is simply amazing. The satisfying crunch with every bite is delightful.

Step 23

The ‘Maewoon-mat-ibheot-dak’ is truly spicy with the addition of Peperoncino, yet it has an addictive quality that makes you keep reaching for more. I love spicy food, so I even ate some of the Peperoncino pieces along with the chicken, and wow… that thrilling spiciness was incredibly delicious! @.@ Chicken is always a winner. ♥
