Chewy and Delicious Red Bean Balls
Quick and Easy Chewy Red Bean Ball Recipe

I’m one of those people who absolutely adores any bread with red beans! And if it has a chewy texture, I love it even more. That’s why I’m a huge fan of sesame balls or classic red bean buns. Today, I’m introducing you to ‘Chal Tong Pat Bol’ (Chewy Red Bean Balls), which you can easily make using frozen dough. Just like its name suggests, these balls are wonderfully chewy, and the whole red bean filling inside isn’t too sweet, making them incredibly delicious. Let’s make these simple and delightful Chal Tong Pat Bol together!
Basic Ingredients- 1 bag of Chal Tong Pat Bol frozen dough
- A little milk (for brushing the surface)
- A little sesame seeds (for topping)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
These Chal Tong Pat Bol are delicious whether fried or baked! Since they come frozen, the night before you plan to bake them, transfer the dough to the refrigerator to thaw slowly overnight. This slow thawing process helps maintain the bread’s soft texture and deliciousness.

Step 2
Once the dough is fully thawed, arrange the balls attractively on a baking sheet. Then, lightly brush the surface of the dough with milk using a pastry brush. Brushing with milk will give the crust a beautiful golden-brown color and add a subtle richness to the flavor.

Step 3
Sprinkle sesame seeds generously over the milk-brushed dough. The delightful crunch and nutty flavor of the whole sesame seeds will enhance the overall taste of the red bean bread. If you enjoy the texture and nutty aroma of sesame seeds, I highly recommend using a good amount!

Step 4
Now, it’s time to bake! Preheat your oven to 170-180°C (340-355°F). Once the oven is preheated, place the arranged Chal Tong Pat Bol inside and bake for about 20-25 minutes. They are ready when the tops are a tempting golden brown and they feel slightly firm to the touch. Baking them this way results in delicious Chal Tong Pat Bol quickly and easily!
