Main Ingredients- 1 dried squid
Seasoning- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp sugar (approx. 1/2 tsp)
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp sugar (approx. 1/2 tsp)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the dried squid into bite-sized pieces according to your preference. Then, soak it in cold water for about 1 hour to rehydrate and soften the squid. (Adjust the soaking time based on the condition of your squid. I soaked mine for about an hour as it was quite old!)
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium heat and add 1 Tbsp of butter. Once the butter melts, add 1 tsp of sugar and mix them together. Be mindful of the sugar quantity, as too much can cause the squid to burn.
Step 3
Lightly pat the soaked squid dry with a paper towel to remove excess water. Then, add the squid to the pan with the butter and sugar mixture.
Step 4
Maintain medium-low heat and continuously stir the squid with chopsticks as it roasts. Continue to cook, stirring gently, for about 5-7 minutes, or until the squid turns a appetizing brown color and develops a glossy sheen. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning, and be patient as it cooks slowly to perfection!
