Chewy Dried Radish Salad
How to Make Delicious and Chewy Dried Radish Salad
Let’s make a delicious dried radish salad with a fantastic texture. This recipe is perfect for a side dish, especially when it’s difficult to prepare meals in the summer.
Ingredients- 100g dried radish (mu-malengi)
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp anchovy sauce (myeolchi aekjeot)
- 2 tsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 1 tsp oligosaccharide
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, soak the dried radish in plenty of water for about 30 minutes until it becomes rehydrated. The soaking time can be adjusted depending on how dry the radish is. If it’s very hard, soak it a bit longer; if it’s already somewhat soft, a shorter time will suffice.
Step 2
Once you feel the dried radish is sufficiently softened, rinse it thoroughly under running water. Then, gently squeeze out as much water as possible. This dish is wonderful as a make-ahead side dish, perfect for those hot summer days when cooking feels like a chore.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, add the sesame oil and minced garlic. This will help infuse the aromatic flavors into the salad.
Step 4
Next, add the red pepper flakes, anchovy sauce, toasted sesame seeds, and oligosaccharide to the bowl to create the seasoning mixture.
Step 5
Add the squeezed dried radish to the prepared seasoning in the bowl. Gently toss and mix everything together with your hands until the radish is evenly coated with the sauce. Be careful not to knead too aggressively, as this can affect the chewy texture.
Step 6
And there you have it! A delicious dried radish salad with a satisfying chewy texture and a delightful savory flavor. It’s a perfect accompaniment to any meal and can be stored in the refrigerator for later enjoyment.
