Main Ingredients

  • 1 serving Udon Konjac Noodles (approx. 200g)
  • 1 slice Cheddar Cheese
  • Pinch of Black Pepper

Stir-fry Seasoning

  • 3 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 5 Peperoncino peppers (or dried chili peppers), crushed or finely minced
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Before you begin, prepare all your ingredients. Open the konjac noodle package and crush or mince the peperoncino peppers using the back of a knife.

Step 1

Step 2

Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the udon konjac noodles and cook for just 2 minutes. Boiling for too long can diminish konjac’s characteristic chewy texture. Drain the noodles thoroughly in a colander.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 3 tablespoons of sesame oil. Add the crushed peperoncino peppers to the oil and sauté over low heat to release their aroma. Be careful not to burn the peppers; cook until a gentle spicy fragrance emerges.

Step 3

Step 4

Add the drained konjac noodles to the skillet with the infused oil. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, ensuring the noodles are coated with the sesame oil and peperoncino. Continue to stir occasionally to prevent sticking and to achieve a slightly golden-brown sear on the noodles.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the konjac noodles are lightly browned, pour 1 tablespoon of soy sauce around the edges of the pan. This allows the soy sauce to caramelize slightly, adding depth of flavor. Stir the noodles to coat them evenly with the soy sauce and cook for another minute until the flavor is absorbed.

Step 5

Step 6

Transfer the stir-fried konjac cheese mixture to a serving plate. Tear or cut the cheddar cheese slice and place it on top. Finish with a sprinkle of black pepper. Enjoy immediately while warm, as the cheese will melt beautifully!
