Ingredients

  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 5-6 button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2-3 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup (200ml) milk
  • 120ml heavy cream
  • 1 packet (200-250g) konjac noodles, rinsed thoroughly under running water and drained
  • 2 slices butter (approx. 30g)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1-2 Tbsp of olive oil. Swirl the pan to coat the bottom evenly.

Step 2

First, add the thinly sliced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent and fragrant. Then, add the sliced mushrooms and chopped bacon. Cook together until the bacon is golden brown and the mushrooms are softened. Finally, add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 3

Push the cooked ingredients to one side of the pan. Add the 2 slices of butter to the empty space. Once the butter has melted, stir it into the ingredients to add a rich, savory flavor.

Step 4

Pour in 1 cup of milk and 120ml of heavy cream. Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir gently as the sauce gradually coats the ingredients. Once the sauce begins to simmer, lower the heat further and cook gently.

Step 5

Add the drained konjac noodles (rinsed well under running water) to the skillet. Gently toss to combine them with the sauce, ensuring each strand is coated.

Step 6

Simmer over low heat for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and clings beautifully to the konjac noodles. Be careful not to let it stick to the bottom. Season with salt and pepper to taste for an even more delicious result.
