- Avocado Oil 6 Tbsp
- Lemon Juice 4 Tbsp
- Honey 1 Tbsp
- Salt 1/4 tsp
- Pepper a little
Optional- Balsamic Vinegar
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Thinly slice half of a small onion into rings and soak them in cold water for a few minutes to remove the sharp bite. Drain well. This step makes the onion crisp and mild.
Step 2
Cut the 100g of pre-cooked octopus into bite-sized pieces. If the tentacles are thick, making a few shallow cuts can help tenderize them.
Step 3
Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Carefully add the prepared octopus and blanch for just 10 seconds. This brief blanching helps maintain the chewy texture and removes any unwanted odors.
Step 4
Immediately rinse the blanched octopus under cold water to stop the cooking process. Drain thoroughly in a colander. Ensuring all excess water is removed is key to preventing a watery salad.
Step 5
While the octopus is draining, let’s make the dressing. In a bowl, add 6 tablespoons of avocado oil.
Step 6
Next, add 4 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice.
Step 7
For a touch of sweetness, add 1 tablespoon of honey. You can substitute with corn syrup if preferred.
Step 8
Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt for seasoning,
Step 9
and a pinch of pepper. Whisk everything together vigorously with a whisk or fork until well combined and emulsified. This creates a beautifully balanced sweet and tangy dressing.
Step 10
Arrange the 8 washed and dried romaine lettuce leaves attractively on your serving plate.
Step 11
Scatter the drained sliced onion over the lettuce,
Step 12
and distribute the 10 olives evenly. These add a lovely briney note and visual appeal.
Step 13
Place the drained 100g of pre-cooked octopus pieces artfully on top of the salad.
Step 14
Add some sliced fresh strawberries for a burst of color and fruity sweetness. Garnish with thin lemon slices for extra freshness.
Step 15
Finish by sprinkling a little Parmesan cheese powder over everything for a nutty, savory finish. This completes your delicious octopus salad! For an extra layer of flavor, drizzle with a little balsamic vinegar if you like.
Step 16
Enjoy the delightful chewiness of the octopus, complemented by the zesty sweet and sour dressing, and the refreshing crunch of fresh fruits and vegetables in this wonderful ‘Pre-cooked Octopus Salad’.
Step 17
This salad is a beautiful and flavorful addition to any meal. Enjoy your delicious creation today! ^^
