Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s start by making the delicious dressing that will bring this agar-agar jelly salad to life! In a bowl, combine 1 tsp of minced garlic, 1 Tbsp of honey for a touch of sweetness (used instead of sugar), 2 Tbsp of soy sauce for savory flavor, 1 Tbsp of vinegar for a refreshing tang, and 1 Tbsp of perilla oil for a nutty aroma. Stir everything together with a spoon until well combined. Your dressing is ready, and it already smells wonderful!
Step 2
Now, let’s prepare the fresh toppings to make the salad visually appealing and more substantial. Agar-agar jelly alone might feel a bit plain, so we’re adding a satisfying crunch with cucumber. First, use the back of your knife to gently scrape off the bumpy ridges on the cucumber’s skin. Then, slice it thinly into matchsticks. Thinly slice the fragrant perilla leaves and finely chop the crisp scallions. Finally, tear the roasted seaweed into small pieces for a delightful crispiness and added flavor. (You can also prepare some ice cubes if you like.)
Step 3
Arrange the prepared agar-agar jelly in a wide bowl. Artfully place the colorful, fresh toppings you’ve prepared on top. Once the cucumber, perilla leaves, and scallions are nicely arranged, generously drizzle the delicious dressing you made earlier over everything. For an extra refreshing and clean taste, add a suitable amount of cold water. Your delicious agar-agar jelly salad is now complete! You can add a few ice cubes for an even cooler treat. Enjoy your meal!
