Try making this delicious stir-fried dish with fish cakes and assorted vegetables, perfect as a side dish or even a savory snack. The chewy fish cakes combined with crisp vegetables create a delightful flavor the whole family will enjoy.
Main Ingredients- 6 sheets of rectangular fish cakes (eomuk)
- 1/2 medium onion
- 1/3 medium carrot
- 1 stalk of green onion
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, for a cleaner taste and better texture, briefly blanch the fish cakes in boiling water to remove excess oil. Then, cut them into bite-sized pieces. Slice the onion and carrot thinly, and diagonally slice the green onion.

Heat a wide pan over medium heat and add 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Let it warm up.
Step 3
Add the sliced onion to the preheated pan and stir-fry for about 1 minute until it becomes translucent and fragrant.

Add the cut fish cakes to the pan and stir-fry with the onion for another 1-2 minutes. They taste even better when slightly browned.

Next, add the sliced carrot and stir-fry for about 1 more minute. It’s best to stir-fry them until they are slightly crisp rather than fully cooked.

Once the ingredients are partially stir-fried, pour 1.5 Tbsp of soy sauce and 1 Tbsp of corn syrup along the edges of the pan. This method helps the seasoning cook evenly without burning.

Add 1.5 tsp of minced garlic and quickly stir-fry with all the ingredients to release the garlic aroma.

Finally, add the diagonally sliced green onions and stir-fry for just 30 seconds to 1 minute until they slightly wilt, adding a refreshing aroma. Stir-frying quickly over high heat helps maintain the vegetables’ crispness.
Step 9
For added flavor, sprinkle a pinch of black pepper. It’s best to turn off the heat before adding pepper to preserve its aroma.
