Inspired by a TV recipe, I decided to make ‘Shine Muscat Dried Persimmon Cream Cheese Rolls’ using ingredients I luckily had in my fridge! I only bought the cream cheese from the store. This delightful roll combines the chewy texture and sweetness of dried persimmons (frozen for about 3 hours for optimal chewiness) with the bursting juiciness of Shine Muscat grapes and the rich flavor of cream cheese. It tasted just like eating ice cream! It’s a perfect treat for all ages, especially for kids as a healthy and delicious snack.

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s start by preparing the key ingredients for our delicious Cream Cheese Dried Persimmon Rolls. You’ll need 5 dried persimmons and 5 Shine Muscat grapes. For the best texture, try to use dried persimmons that are not overly dry; slightly chewy ones are easier to work with and taste wonderful.
Step 2
Rinse the Shine Muscat grapes gently under cool running water 2-3 times. After rinsing, pat them thoroughly dry with a paper towel. Ensuring they are completely dry will help the persimmon roll stick together nicely in the next steps.
Step 3
Carefully trim off the stem ends of the dried persimmons using a knife. Removing the stem cleanly will help you roll the persimmon neatly for a beautiful presentation.
Step 4
Now, let’s remove the seeds from the dried persimmons. For hygiene, it’s best to wear disposable gloves. Gently open the dried persimmon from the cut end and carefully take out any seeds. This step ensures a smooth eating experience.
Step 5
Spread a thin layer of ground cinnamon onto the inside surface of the dried persimmon. If using a tool is difficult, you can sprinkle the cinnamon inside and gently pat or rub it in with your finger. The subtle aroma of cinnamon beautifully complements the sweetness of the persimmon.
Step 6
Next, spread a layer of cream cheese along the inner edge of the dried persimmon, on top of the cinnamon. Aim to fill about 70% of the inside with cream cheese. This way, when you roll it up, the cream cheese will fill the center nicely without oozing out too much. Feel free to adjust the amount of cream cheese to your liking.
Step 7
Place one Shine Muscat grape into the center of the cream cheese-lined dried persimmon. If the grapes are very large, it might be difficult to roll, so select grapes that are appropriately sized for your persimmons.
Step 8
After placing the grape, add a little more cream cheese on top of the grape to completely cover it. This helps to secure the grape inside and ensures the roll holds its shape.
Step 9
Carefully roll up the dried persimmon, shaping it neatly. Place the completed roll on a plate and wrap it tightly with plastic wrap. Wrapping it firmly will help it maintain its shape while freezing and prevent moisture loss. Place the wrapped rolls in the freezer for 3 to 5 hours, or until firm.
Step 10
After about 3 hours in the freezer, take out the frozen Cream Cheese Dried Persimmon Rolls. Slice the firm rolls in half to reveal the beautiful spiral inside. Transfer the slices to a serving dish, and your delicious Shine Muscat Dried Persimmon Cream Cheese Rolls are ready to enjoy! They are wonderfully refreshing, like a frozen treat.
