First, we’ll cook the macaroni. Bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a pot and add a pinch of salt. Once boiling, add the macaroni and stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook according to the package directions, or until the macaroni is tender but still slightly firm (al dente). Drain the cooked macaroni thoroughly in a colander.

Drain the canned corn very well using a sieve. Removing excess liquid is important to prevent the salad from becoming watery and diluted.
