Main Ingredients

  • 8 Morning rolls
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1 Apple
  • 8 Crab sticks (imitation crab)
  • 5 Slices of sandwich ham
  • 2 Hard-boiled eggs (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Dressing Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp Honey mustard sauce
  • 0.5 Tsp Sugar
  • Pinch of black pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the cucumber thoroughly and julienne it. Place the julienned cucumber in a bowl, sprinkle with a pinch of salt, and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. This process draws out excess moisture, preventing the sandwich from becoming soggy and retaining a crisp texture. While the cucumber is salting, prepare the other ingredients.

Step 1

Step 2

Gently shred the crab sticks with your hands. Shredding them along the natural grain will give a better texture than chopping them finely. Core the apple and julienne it to a similar thickness as the cucumber. Julienne the sandwich ham as well.

Step 2

Step 3

Peel the hard-boiled eggs and mash them with a fork. Don’t worry if you don’t have hard-boiled eggs; the sandwiches will still be delicious! Combine all the prepared ingredients (salted cucumber, shredded crab sticks, julienned apple, ham, and mashed eggs) in a large bowl.

Step 3

Step 4

Add the dressing ingredients: 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of honey mustard sauce, 0.5 teaspoon of sugar, and a pinch of black pepper. Gently mix everything together with your hands until well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more mayonnaise or sugar if desired.

Step 4

Step 5

Carefully cut a slit into each morning roll, stopping about two-thirds of the way through, so the roll opens like a pocket without separating completely. Generously fill the prepared slit in each morning roll with the crab stick mixture. Your delicious crab stick sandwiches are ready! For an extra treat, you can lightly toast the rolls before filling.
