Salad Ingredients
  • 150g Macaroni
  • 2 Imitation Crab Sticks (Kani)
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 3 Tbsp Canned Corn Kernels
  • 0.5 Tbsp Coarse Salt (for boiling macaroni)

Dressing Ingredients
  • 4 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Pinches Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Honey Mustard Sauce (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, drain the canned corn kernels thoroughly using a sieve. Properly draining the water prevents the salad from becoming too watery and ensures a better flavor.

Step 2

Prepare 150g of macaroni. This amount is sufficient for about 4 servings.

Step 3

Dice the imitation crab sticks into small, approximately 1cm cubes. This will add a pleasant texture to the salad.

Step 4

Peel half a cucumber, then scoop out the seeds using a spoon. Cut the cucumber into dice shapes, similar in size to the crab sticks (about 1cm cubes).

Step 5

Bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a pot. Add 0.5 tablespoon of coarse salt. Once the water is boiling, add the macaroni and start cooking.

Step 6

Boil the macaroni for approximately 12 minutes. This cooking time will result in a tender yet firm texture. Keep an eye on the pot as the water might boil over, especially if the pot is small. Stir the macaroni occasionally to ensure even cooking. You’ll notice the macaroni triples or quadruples in size as it cooks.

Once the macaroni is cooked, immediately rinse it under cold running water to stop the cooking process and cool it down. Drain thoroughly in a sieve to remove excess water. Proper draining is crucial to prevent a soggy salad.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained corn kernels, diced imitation crab sticks, diced cucumber, and the drained macaroni. Add two pinches of salt to enhance the overall flavor.
