Main Ingredients- 1 bunch fresh chives (approx. 100g)
Sweet & Tangy Seasoning- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/3 Tbsp anchovy sauce (or sand lance fish sauce)
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar (adjust for tanginess)
- 1 Tbsp sugar (adjust for sweetness)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/3 Tbsp anchovy sauce (or sand lance fish sauce)
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar (adjust for tanginess)
- 1 Tbsp sugar (adjust for sweetness)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash the fresh chives under running water. Rinse them carefully to remove any dirt or debris. Drain them completely in a colander; any remaining moisture can dilute the flavor of the final dish. Once drained, cut the chives into manageable lengths of about 4-5 cm.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the prepared chives with all the seasoning ingredients: minced garlic, soy sauce, anchovy sauce, gochugaru, rice vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil. Use chopsticks to quickly toss everything together, ensuring the seasoning coats the chives evenly. Be careful not to mix for too long, as this will make the chives wilt and lose their crispness. The key is to mix rapidly!
Step 3
Once the seasoning is well combined, sprinkle some sesame seeds on top for garnish. Just like that, you’ll have crisp and delicious stir-fried chives ready in under 2 minutes! It’s best enjoyed immediately. Serve it alongside hot rice, Samgyetang, or Baek숙 for a delightful meal.
