Main Ingredients- 350g Cabbage
- A moderate amount of carrot (for color)
- 3 sticks imitation crab meat (approx. 100g)
Seasoning- A pinch of seasoned salt (adjust to your taste)
- 2 Tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- A sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds
- A pinch of seasoned salt (adjust to your taste)
- 2 Tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- A sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the cabbage thoroughly under running water. Fill a bowl with plenty of water and add 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Submerge the cabbage and gently swirl for about 3 minutes to sanitize. (Alternatively, tear the cabbage into bite-sized pieces and soak in the vinegar water.) Drain the cabbage, place it in a microwave-safe plastic bag (do not tie the bag), and microwave for about 4 minutes using the ‘steam vegetables’ function or a regular setting. (Adjust cooking time based on your microwave’s power.)
Step 2
Once the cabbage has cooled slightly, transfer it to a bowl. Julienne it finely using your hands or a knife. Cutting it into manageable lengths will help it absorb the seasoning better and make it easier to eat.
Step 3
Peel the carrot after washing it, then julienne it thinly to match the thickness of the cabbage. Add it to the bowl with the cabbage. The carrot will add color and a satisfying crunch.
Step 4
Cut the imitation crab sticks into four equal lengths, then gently shred them along the grain by hand. Avoid shredding them too finely, as this can reduce the enjoyable texture. Add the shredded crab meat to the bowl.
Step 5
Now it’s time to season. Add the seasoned salt, minced garlic, toasted sesame seeds, and sesame oil to the bowl. It’s best to start with a moderate amount of salt, as you can always add more later after tasting.
Step 6
Gently toss and mix the ingredients with your hands until the seasoning is evenly distributed. Be careful not to over-mix, as this can make the cabbage lose its crispness. The key is to lightly combine everything so the dressing coats all the ingredients.
Step 7
Transfer the beautifully mixed cabbage salad to a serving dish. Your delicious and refreshing cabbage salad is now complete! Enjoy its fresh and vibrant flavors.
