A quick and easy way to use up that cabbage in your fridge! This vibrant and flavorful cabbage salad (Yangbaechu Muchim) is ready in minutes and makes a delightful side dish or a light salad.
Main Ingredients- Fresh Cabbage, 250g
- Carrot, a small amount (approx. 1/4 of a medium carrot)
Seasoning- Salt (to taste)
- Minced Garlic, 1/2 Tbsp
- Sesame Seeds, generous amount
- Sesame Oil, 1 Tbsp

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the cabbage thoroughly under running water and pat it dry. Place the washed cabbage in a microwave-safe plastic bag, ensuring not to tie the opening. Microwave on the ‘vegetable steaming’ setting for about 4 minutes. This process slightly softens the cabbage, making it wonderfully crisp yet tender.
Step 2
While the cabbage is microwaving, peel and thinly julienne the carrot. Cutting the carrot thinly will ensure it blends well with the cabbage and provides a pleasant texture.

Once the cabbage is done microwaving, let it cool slightly. Then, thinly slice it into fine shreds. Avoid making the shreds too thick, as this will help the dressing coat evenly and make it easier to eat. Transfer the shredded cabbage to a large mixing bowl.
