Crisp & Tangy Coleslaw
5-Minute Homemade Coleslaw: A Refreshing Cabbage Salad
This versatile cabbage salad is the perfect accompaniment to fried chicken, burgers, or even as a filling for sandwiches. It’s a quick and effortless dish that requires no cooking, offering a delightful crunch and a bright, tangy flavor profile.
Main Ingredients
- 200g Cabbage (about 1/4 of a medium head)
- 1/3 Carrot (about 30g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the cabbage and carrot thoroughly and pat them dry. Remove the core from the cabbage and shred it as thinly as possible. Thinly shred the carrot as well. The thinner you slice them, the better the dressing will coat the vegetables and the more tender the texture will be.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the thinly shredded cabbage and carrot. Add the dressing ingredients: 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk (you can substitute with sugar if you prefer less sweetness), a pinch of salt, and a dash of black pepper to your taste.
Step 3
Gently toss all the ingredients together using a spatula or spoon until everything is evenly coated with the dressing. Mix carefully to avoid mashing the vegetables. Ensure the dressing is distributed uniformly for the best flavor.
