How to Easily Make Delicious and Chewy Potato Wedges in an Air Fryer
June is when potatoes are at their most delicious! They’re wonderful steamed, as a side dish, or as a snack – so many versatile dishes can be made with potatoes. Today, I’ll show you how to make perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside potato wedges using your air fryer at home.
Ingredients- 3 medium potatoes
- 0.5 Tbsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- Parsley flakes, to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the potatoes thoroughly with a brush to remove all dirt, leaving the skins on. Cut each potato into about 12 thick wedges, resembling half-moons. This shape allows them to cook evenly in the air fryer and makes them easy to eat.
Step 2
Place the prepared potato wedges in a pot and cover with boiling water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of sugar to the water. This will season the potatoes from the inside out, making them more flavorful. The sugar helps to enhance the natural sweetness of the potatoes.
Step 3
Boil the potatoes for just about 5 minutes. You don’t want them fully cooked; the goal is to par-cook them so they become tender inside when air-fried. After 5 minutes, the surface of the potatoes should feel slightly tender and just beginning to cook.
Step 4
Drain the par-boiled potatoes well and transfer them to a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 0.3 tablespoons of salt, and parsley flakes to your liking. These simple seasonings are enough to make delicious homemade potato wedges. Toss everything together gently to ensure the potatoes are evenly coated with the seasoning.
Step 5
Arrange the seasoned potato wedges in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap. Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, carefully remove the basket, flip the wedges, and air fry for an additional 7 minutes. Since air fryer models vary in power, keep an eye on them and adjust the cooking time as needed until they are golden brown and crispy.
Step 6
Transfer the perfectly cooked potato wedges to a serving plate. Enjoy them warm with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce. Savor these healthy and delicious homemade potato wedges!
