Main Ingredients- 1 bag Fresh Bean Sprouts (approx. 200g)
- 5 strips Thick-cut Bacon
- 1/2 stalk Green Onion
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, it’s important to prepare the bean sprouts properly. Removing the root ends (tails) will result in a cleaner texture, but if you’re short on time, it’s perfectly fine to use them as they are. After trimming, rinse the bean sprouts under running water a couple of times to wash away any dirt or impurities. Drain them well in a colander.
Step 2
Next, cut the bacon into bite-sized pieces. Slicing them about the thickness of your little finger (around 1-1.5 cm) helps retain a satisfying texture and allows the sauce to penetrate beautifully.
Step 3
Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium-low heat. Add the sliced bacon, roughly chopped green onion, and minced garlic. Stir-fry until the bacon starts to release its fat and the aroma of the green onion and garlic becomes fragrant. Cooking over medium-low heat will enhance the overall flavor.
Step 4
Once the bacon begins to turn golden brown, add the prepared bean sprouts to the pan. Stir-frying over high heat will help keep the bean sprouts nice and crunchy. As the bean sprouts start to wilt slightly, add a pinch of black pepper, 1.5 tablespoons of oyster sauce, and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce to season. Toss everything together quickly until well combined. Your delicious bacon and bean sprout stir-fry is now ready!
