Let’s whip up these wonderful Cabbage Krabby Stick Pancakes!
Main Ingredients- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 2 Krabby sticks (imitation crab meat)
- 2 eggs
- 1 stalk green onion
- 1 chili pepper (e.g., Cheongyang pepper)
- 1/2 red bell pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the ingredients for the pancakes. Finely shred about 2 cups of washed cabbage. Prepare 2 Krabby sticks, 2 eggs, 1 stalk of green onion, 1 chili pepper, and half a red bell pepper.
Step 2
For the cabbage, using a mandoline or shredder will give you very fine shreds. If using a knife, slice it as thinly as possible. Briefly soak the thinly sliced cabbage in water with a splash of vinegar to enhance its crispiness, then rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water. Tear the Krabby sticks into thin strips by hand, or chop them finely. (Regular imitation crab sticks can also be used.)
Step 3
Finely chop the green onion. For the chili peppers, remove the seeds and mince them finely. This adds a nice color and a hint of spice to the pancakes.
Step 4
In a bowl, crack the 2 eggs. Remove the chalazae (the white stringy bits) and whisk the eggs until smooth using a fork or whisk.
Step 5
In a larger bowl, combine the squeezed shredded cabbage, chopped green onion, and minced chili peppers.
Step 6
Pour the whisked eggs over the vegetable mixture. You can add more egg if you prefer, but too much egg can make the pancakes difficult to shape and flip cleanly. Mix gently to ensure the vegetables are coated.
Step 7
Add 1 tablespoon of cooking wine, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix everything together gently until well combined. Ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed without clumping.
Step 8
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Spoon portions of the batter into the pan, forming small, round pancakes. Cook for a few minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Enjoy your delicious and crispy Cabbage Krabby Stick Pancakes!
