Main Ingredients- 1 packet of pickled radish (danmuji, approx. 200g)
Seasoning Ingredients- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp chopped green onion
- Pinch of toasted sesame seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 2 Tbsp corn syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp chopped green onion
- Pinch of toasted sesame seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 2 Tbsp corn syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 1 packet of pickled radish. If it’s a packet-style danmuji, a quick rinse under running water and a good squeeze to remove excess moisture works wonders. If you’re using thicker, kimbap-style pickled radish, slice it into bite-sized pieces, about 1cm wide.
Step 2
Now, let’s make the delicious seasoning. Place the prepared pickled radish in a bowl. Add 1/2 Tbsp of minced garlic, 1 Tbsp of chopped green onion, and 2 Tbsp of red pepper flakes. For sweetness and shine, add 2 Tbsp of corn syrup. Then, for nutty flavor, sprinkle in a pinch of toasted sesame seeds, and finally, to enhance the aroma, add 1/2 Tbsp of sesame oil. Add all the seasoning ingredients.
Step 3
With all the seasoning ingredients added, gently mix everything together with your hands, as if you’re massaging the radish. It’s important to mix gently so that the seasoning coats the radish evenly. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the radish mushy. Once the seasoning is well combined, your delicious seasoned radish salad is complete! You can enjoy it right away, or for an even better flavor, chill it in the refrigerator for a while before serving.
