The Perfect Snack Made Simple: Potato Cheese Pancake!
While searching for simple potato snacks, I discovered ‘Potato Cheese Pancake’! I decided to give it a try and it was wonderful. It’s perfect as a snack for kids or a late-night treat when you’re feeling peckish. The crispy exterior and gooey, savory cheese are absolutely delightful!
Key Ingredients- 1-2 potatoes (adjust quantity to your preference)
- 1 handful of mozzarella cheese (adjust quantity to your preference)
- Pinch of salt
- Plenty of cooking oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the potatoes thoroughly. Then, julienne them as thinly as possible. (The thinner they are, the crispier the pancake will be!) Lightly sprinkle the julienned potatoes with salt for seasoning. Since cheese is quite salty, it’s best to use just a little salt.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the julienned potatoes and mozzarella cheese, mixing them well. If the cheese doesn’t mix easily, you can also try sprinkling the mozzarella cheese generously over the potato mixture right before frying. This way, the cheese will melt and bind the potatoes together.

Pour a generous amount of cooking oil into a frying pan. Plenty of oil is key to achieving a crispy potato pancake.

Once the pan is heated, carefully place portions of the potato-cheese mixture onto the hot oil, forming round pancake shapes. Avoid making them too thick; spreading them thinly is the secret to extra crispiness.

Cook over medium heat until the bottom side of the pancake is golden brown and crispy. Then, carefully flip it over. Cook the other side until it’s also golden brown and crispy, and it’s ready!

Gently transfer the perfectly cooked potato cheese pancakes to a serving plate.
