Crispy and Spicy Seasoned Bean Sprouts
An Easy and Delicious Side Dish: Crispy, Spicy Bean Sprouts
Made a tasty and crunchy bean sprout side dish to accompany your meals. This simple dish offers a delightful crunch and a perfectly balanced spicy and savory flavor.
Main Ingredients- 1/2 bag of bean sprouts (approx. 150-200g)
- A small amount of green onion
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the bean sprouts thoroughly under running water. Blanch the bean sprouts in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, uncovered. (Tip: Blanching bean sprouts with the lid off helps preserve their crispiness and prevents a fishy odor. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become mushy!)
Step 2
Drain the blanched bean sprouts completely using a sieve. Transfer the drained sprouts to a large bowl.
Step 3
Finely chop the green onion and add it to the bean sprouts. The fragrant green onion will enhance the overall flavor of the dish.
Step 4
Now, let’s season the bean sprouts. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce for soup. (Tip: Soy sauce for soup adds a rich umami flavor. If it’s not salty enough, you can adjust with a pinch of salt at the end.)
Step 5
Add 1 tablespoon of perilla oil for a nutty aroma. The fragrant scent of perilla oil will stimulate your appetite.
Step 6
Finally, add 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds generously for that classic nutty flavor and texture.
Step 7
Add 1/2 tablespoon of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat. Gently mix everything with your hands until the seasonings are well combined with the bean sprouts. Avoid mixing too vigorously to keep the sprouts crisp. Your delicious and crispy seasoned bean sprouts are ready! Enjoy this wonderful side dish with a bowl of freshly cooked rice.
