Main Ingredients

  • 100g dried small shrimp
  • 3 Cheongyang peppers (Korean chili peppers)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Wash the Cheongyang peppers thoroughly. Remove the stems and seeds (optional, if you prefer less heat) and then thinly julienne them. If you like it spicy, you can leave the seeds in.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a wide frying pan over medium-low heat. Once the pan is warm, add the julienned Cheongyang peppers and the dried small shrimp together.

Step 2

Step 3

Stir-fry the ingredients slowly over medium-low heat for about 2-3 minutes, being careful not to burn them. This step is to remove any fishy odor from the shrimp and to enhance their savory aroma. Continue stir-frying until the small shrimp become crispier.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the dried shrimp are sufficiently crispy, it’s time to add the seasonings. Add 1 tsp of chili powder, 1 Tbsp of soy sauce, and 1 Tbsp of oligosaccharide (for sweetness). Stir-fry everything together until the shrimp are evenly coated with the sauce.

Step 4

Step 5

Continue to stir-fry for about another minute, allowing the sauce to fully penetrate the shrimp. Just before turning off the heat, drizzle in 1/2 Tbsp of sesame oil, sprinkle in 1/2 Tbsp of toasted sesame seeds, and add a pinch of black pepper. Toss everything together gently to complete this delicious stir-fried dried shrimp dish!
