Crispy & Cool Pollack Roe Mayo Cucumber Bites
[Super Easy Recipe] Summer Delight! Make Elegant Appetizers with ‘Pollack Roe Mayo Cucumber’
In summer, crisp and refreshing cucumbers are a wonderful ingredient on their own! Today’s ‘Pollack Roe Mayo Cucumber’ is a perfect dish for both an alcoholic beverage accompaniment and a light finger food. It’s an easy recipe that even those who don’t enjoy alcohol can savor, so let’s get started!
Main Ingredients
- 1 Cucumber
- 1-2 strips of fresh pollack roe (roe sac removed)
- 1 slice of butter (approx. 10g)
Special Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1/2 Tbsp minced Cheongyang chili pepper
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp minced Garlic
- Wasabi to taste (adjust as preferred)
- 2 Tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1/2 Tbsp minced Cheongyang chili pepper
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp minced Garlic
- Wasabi to taste (adjust as preferred)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
It’s so simple, you might wonder if it even qualifies as a recipe! Ready to follow along quickly? First, wash the cucumber thoroughly under running water and slice it into bite-sized pieces. (Tip: Peeling the skin thinly with a peeler and rolling it up for plating looks pretty, but today we’re prioritizing speed and convenience for a quick enjoyment!)
Step 2
Place the fresh pollack roe in a heated pan with the butter slice. Cook the pollack roe directly on top. (Caution: The roe may burst and splatter, so be careful!) Cook it to a medium doneness, similar to a steak, for a perfectly delicious result – tender inside with a slightly seared exterior.
Step 3
It’s best to adjust the thickness of the pollack roe based on its saltiness. Slicing it too thickly might make it taste overly salty, so check the salt level of your pollack roe and slice it to an appropriate thickness.
Step 4
For the special sauce, simply combine the mayonnaise, minced Cheongyang chili pepper, sugar, and minced garlic in a bowl and mix well – it’s that easy! (Tip: We didn’t add it, but pollack roe and wasabi are a fantastic combination! If you want to enhance the unique flavor of the pollack roe, consider adding a small amount of wasabi according to your preference.)
Step 5
Now, arrange the cooked pollack roe on top of the prepared cucumber slices and generously drizzle with the special sauce. Pop it all in your mouth for a delightful bite! It’s a sophisticated dish completed in an instant!
Step 6
My partner and I made this as a simple side dish to our pasta. The salty pollack roe mayo cucumber paired wonderfully with our mild oil pasta! If you’re looking for a simple yet special finger food, this is a recipe anyone can easily try. Enjoy your delicious meal! 🙂
