Main Ingredients- 7 frozen dumplings
- 1/4 onion
- 2 button mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups store-bought tomato sauce (approx. 400ml)
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (approx. 300g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the vegetables for the dish. Thinly slice the garlic to add aroma, and also slice the onion and button mushrooms to a similar thickness. Slicing them to an appropriate size prevents them from feeling disconnected from the sauce.
Step 2
Next, get the dumplings ready. Lightly oil a dry pan and fry the frozen dumplings, turning them over, until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides. Pre-frying the dumplings this way significantly improves the final texture of the lasagna. The key is to cook them slowly over medium-low heat to prevent burning.
Step 3
Now, let’s make the delicious lasagna sauce! Heat olive oil in a separate pan over low heat and sauté the sliced garlic until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Once the sweet aroma spreads, add the sliced onion and button mushrooms and sauté them together. Cook until the onions become translucent and the mushrooms soften. Then, pour in the store-bought tomato sauce and stir well with the vegetables. Simmer for a moment. This sautéing process deepens the sweetness of the vegetables and the richness of the tomato sauce.
Step 4
Finally, it’s time to assemble the lasagna! Spread a layer of the prepared tomato sauce on the bottom of a deep pan or oven-safe dish. Arrange the golden-brown fried dumplings on top, making sure they don’t overlap. Pour plenty of tomato sauce over the dumplings, and then generously sprinkle a large amount of mozzarella cheese on top. Cover with a lid and cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the inside to heat through. If you have an oven, you can bake it at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes for an even more appealing presentation.
