Crispy & Golden Homemade Waffles

Perfect for Family Gatherings! Delicious Homemade Waffles

Crispy & Golden Homemade Waffles

I recently tried making waffles with a waffle maker I received from the ManGae Recipe Contest event last month. They turned out wonderfully crispy and savory! I was so delighted that I’ve already made them four times and even shared some with my neighbors. Today, my children helped make them, and they were amazed, exclaiming, ‘We can make waffles at home too!’ It was a huge hit! If you’re looking for a fun activity and a delicious treat, this recipe is for you.

Waffle Batter Ingredients

  • 1 packet (250g) Waffle Mix
  • 4 Tbsp Pancake Mix
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup (200ml) Water
  • A little Cooking Oil (for greasing the machine)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a large bowl, place 1 tablespoon of butter. Set the bowl over a saucepan of warm water to melt the butter gently. Once melted, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and stir until dissolved. This step adds depth of flavor.

Step 1

Step 2

Crack 1 egg into the bowl with the melted butter and sugar mixture. Whisk gently until well combined. Ensure the egg is fully incorporated.

Step 2

Step 3

Add the pancake mix and waffle mix to the bowl. Gradually pour in 1 cup (200ml) of water while whisking with a whisk or spatula until you have a smooth batter with no lumps. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tougher waffles. A few small lumps are perfectly fine.

Step 3

Step 4

While your waffle maker is preheating, lightly brush the grooves with a little cooking oil. Use a paper towel to wipe away any excess oil. This ensures the waffles won’t stick.

Step 4

Step 5

Plug in your waffle maker. The red indicator light will turn on, signaling that it’s preheating. Once the light turns off, the waffle maker is ready to use. (Refer to your waffle maker’s manual for specific preheating times).

Step 5

Step 6

Carefully pour about 3 tablespoons of the batter onto the center of the preheated waffle iron. Be mindful not to overfill, as the batter can expand and overflow. Close the lid. The red light will turn on again as the waffle begins to cook.

Step 6

Step 7

When the waffle is cooked, the red indicator light will turn off. Wait for about 30 seconds after the light turns off before carefully opening the lid. Gently lift out the golden-brown waffle and transfer it to a wire rack or plate. Be cautious, as it will be hot.

Step 7

Step 8

Serve the warm waffles on a plate. Dust with powdered sugar for a classic finish. For an extra treat, you can add your favorite jam or a dollop of whipped cream.
