Crispy & Immune-Boosting! Easy Homemade Fried Peppers Recipe
Beat the Cold with Delicious Fried Peppers: A DIY Recipe
Among all the pepper dishes, my absolute favorite is fried peppers! Peppers are also a fantastic ingredient for boosting immunity. That’s why I’m sharing an easy-to-make recipe you can whip up right at home. Enjoy this delightful treat!
Key Ingredients for Fried Peppers- 1.5 paper cups of pancake mix (approx. 150g)
- 1 paper cup of chicken powder (approx. 100g)
- 10 or more large peppers (like Korean spicy peppers or bell peppers)
- 100-200ml water (for adjusting batter consistency)
Alternatives if you don’t have pancake mix or chicken powder- 1.5-2 paper cups of tempura flour (approx. 150-200g)
- 1.5-2 paper cups of tempura flour (approx. 150-200g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Start your delicious fried pepper journey! Choose large, crisp peppers. Wash them thoroughly under running water.
Step 2
It’s good to keep the stems intact, but if they are damaged or look unappetizing, trim them off cleanly. This ensures both a neat appearance and a clean taste.
Step 3
Now, let’s make the batter. If you have tempura flour, using just that will result in wonderfully crispy peppers. If you’re using pancake mix and chicken powder, mix 1.5 cups of pancake mix with 1 cup of chicken powder. Gradually add 100-200ml of water while mixing until you achieve a batter consistency that’s not too thin, but flows in thick drips from a spoon. A slightly thicker batter will coat the peppers generously, making them extra delicious.
Step 4
No more exploding peppers! Since the moisture inside can cause them to burst during frying, it’s essential to make several small slits or cuts in the peppers. This allows them to cook evenly inside and prevents bursting. Make about 3-4 cuts.
Step 5
Coat the cut peppers evenly and thoroughly with the prepared batter. Make sure every part of the pepper is covered with the batter.
Step 6
Let’s get the oil temperature just right. Pour enough oil into the pot so it’s about an inch deep, and heat it over high heat. Once the oil is sufficiently hot, reduce the heat to medium. If you drop a bit of batter and it sizzles and floats up, the oil is ready.
Step 7
Now it’s time to fry those delicious peppers! If you want a thick, crispy coating, coat the peppers generously with batter right before frying and immediately place them into the hot oil. Try to fry them with some space between each pepper so they don’t stick together.
Step 8
Once the fried peppers are golden brown and deliciously cooked, they’re ready! Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil for extra crispiness. Enjoy them immediately while they’re hot for the ultimate spicy and crispy experience!
