Base Ingredients

  • 300g Rolled Oats (Old-fashioned oats recommended)
  • 80g Walnuts (Broken into bite-sized pieces)
  • 30g Raisins (Can be substituted with cranberries, apricots, etc. to your preference)

Sweetener

  • 30g Organic Brown Sugar (or granulated sugar)
  • 60g Agave Syrup (Can be substituted with maple syrup or honey)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, in a large bowl, combine the 300g of rolled oats, 80g of walnuts broken into bite-sized pieces, and 30g of raisins.

Step 1

Step 2

Next, pour in the 30g of organic brown sugar and 60g of agave syrup to add sweetness. (You can substitute agave syrup with maple syrup or honey. If using honey, be mindful not to overheat it.)

Step 2

Step 3

Using a spatula or your hands, mix everything thoroughly until the oats and nuts are evenly coated with the syrup. Ensuring all ingredients are well-coated will result in a crispier and more flavorful granola after baking.

Step 3

Step 4

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the syrup-coated granola mixture thinly and evenly over the parchment paper. Spreading it thinly is key for even baking.

Step 4

Step 5

Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for approximately 15 minutes. Adjust the time and temperature according to your oven’s specifications.

Step 5

Step 6

About halfway through the baking time (around 7-8 minutes), carefully remove the baking sheet and stir the granola to ensure even browning. Your granola is ready when it has a crisp texture and a light, golden-brown color.

Step 6

Step 7

Once baked, it’s crucial to let the granola cool completely on the baking sheet. The residual heat will continue to toast it as it cools. Once fully cooled, store the granola in an airtight container or a resealable bag at room temperature to maintain its freshness and crispiness.
