Ingredients
- 8 Shrimp, cleaned
- 1 tsp Olive oil
- 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise
- Pinch of Salt
- Pinch of Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp Frying powder (or tempura flour)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, place the cleaned shrimp in a bowl. Season the shrimp evenly with pepper and salt. Gently mix with your hands to ensure the seasoning is well distributed.
Step 2
Next, add 1 teaspoon of olive oil to the seasoned shrimp and mix again thoroughly. The olive oil will coat the surface of the shrimp, adding a lovely moistness.
Step 3
Now, add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and mix it well with the shrimp. Mayonnaise will make the shrimp more tender and help the coating adhere better.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons of frying powder. Whisk them together until there are no lumps. The savory flavor of the Parmesan cheese combined with the frying powder will create a fantastic coating.
Step 5
Add the shrimp, coated with mayonnaise, to the Parmesan cheese and frying powder mixture. Gently toss to ensure the coating evenly covers each shrimp. Coating them thoroughly is key to achieving a crispy texture when baked.
Step 6
Line an oven tray or toaster oven tray with parchment paper. Arrange the coated shrimp on the tray, making sure they don’t overlap. This ensures even cooking and crispiness.
Step 7
Place the tray into a preheated oven at 230°C (445°F). Bake for 7 to 10 minutes on one side. Adjust the time based on your oven’s specifications. The shrimp will start to turn golden brown.
Step 8
Carefully remove the shrimp from the oven, flip them over, and bake the other side for another 7 to 10 minutes at the same temperature. Once both sides are golden brown and crispy, your delicious oven-baked shrimp fries are ready! They taste best when served warm.
