Ingredients

  • Radish: 110g (thinly julienned)
  • Soybean Sprouts: 100g (rinsed and cleaned)
  • Rice: 2 cups (standard measuring cup)
  • Water: 2 cups (equal to the amount of rice)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, rinse the rice gently under running water a couple of times until the water runs clear. Then, soak the rice for about 30 minutes. This soaking step is crucial for achieving fluffy and delicious rice.

Step 1

Step 2

Now, let’s start cooking the rice in the pot. Place the soaked rice into the pot. Add the 2 cups of water and the thinly julienned radish. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the rice mixture begins to boil vigorously, evenly distribute the cleaned soybean sprouts over the rice. Reduce the heat to low (low heat) and let it simmer, covered, for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, turn off the heat completely and let the rice steam for another 10 minutes. This steaming process will perfectly cook the sprouts, keeping them wonderfully crisp.

Step 3

Step 4

After the rice has finished steaming, open the lid and gently mix the soybean sprouts, radish, and rice together. For an extra burst of flavor, serve with a savory soy sauce-based seasoning (soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onions, minced garlic, and a pinch of chili powder, if desired).
