Crispy & Sweet Bread Popcorn
Easy Snack for Kids: How to Make Butter Toast Rusks & Bread Popcorn
The perfect nutritious snack for children! We’ll show you how to make crispy bread popcorn, a delightful combination of buttery richness and sweet sugar. It’s a simple recipe that uses leftover bread, easy for anyone to follow.
Main Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread
- 20g butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the bread into bite-sized pieces. Smaller pieces, like popcorn, are easier to eat. You could bake it larger and cut it later, but pre-cutting makes cooking more convenient.
Step 2
We’ll melt the butter in a frying pan. To prevent the butter from burning, use medium-low heat. High heat can burn the butter quickly, so be careful.
Step 3
Once the butter is sufficiently melted, place the cut bread pieces in the pan. As the butter soaks into the bread, it will toast to a golden yellow. Stir the bread pieces occasionally to ensure they are coated evenly with butter as they cook.
Step 4
When one side of the bread is crispy enough, flip it over and toast the other side. To ensure even buttering on both sides, add a small piece of butter to melt on the second side as you toast it. This will create even more delicious rusks.
Step 5
It’s already delicious and nutty as it is! If you prefer it sweeter, sprinkle some sugar evenly over the bread. This adds a delightful sweetness. You can enjoy these toast rusks as is, or cut them into smaller pieces to make them like popcorn for the kids – they’ll love them!

Your incredibly simple and delicious kid-friendly snack is ready! If you have leftover bread, don’t throw it away – try making this recipe. It’s an addictive snack that you’ll keep reaching for. (This content is part of the ‘Good Parent Master Widget Mission’ series.)
