Easy Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes

Ingredients- 2 large potatoes
- Maple syrup
- Herb salt
- Parsley flakes
- Butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, peel the potatoes thoroughly. Then, cut each potato into 2-3 wedges, depending on their size. If the potatoes are very large, you can cut them into 4 pieces.

Place the potato wedges cut-side up. Lay two chopsticks on either side of the potato; these will act as guides to prevent cutting too deep. Using the chopsticks as a guide, carefully make thin, even slits across the surface of the potato, about 2-3mm apart. This technique helps achieve a crispier texture when cooked.

After scoring, soak the potatoes in cold water for about 10-15 minutes to remove excess starch. This step is crucial for achieving maximum crispiness and a better flavor. Be careful not to cut too deep while scoring, so the potato pieces don’t fall apart!

Drain the potatoes from the soaking water and pat them completely dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen cloth. Ensuring the potatoes are dry is important to prevent them from steaming instead of roasting.

Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper and arrange the prepared potato wedges. Melt the butter (you can use a microwave or gentle stovetop heat) and brush it evenly over the surface of the potatoes. Sprinkle generously with herb salt (or regular salt) and parsley flakes for seasoning. The herb salt adds a wonderful savory depth.

Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and place the potatoes inside. Cook for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, carefully flip the potato wedges and cook for another 10 minutes. Finally, increase the temperature to 200°C (400°F) and roast for about 5 more minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
