Crispy Tonkatsu Cooked in the Air Fryer
The Easiest Way to Cook Tonkatsu: A Perfect Guide for Air Fryer Enthusiasts
Enjoy delicious and crispy homemade tonkatsu, a favorite for the whole family! Using an air fryer makes it incredibly simple to achieve a golden-brown exterior and a juicy interior without excess oil. It’s perfect for kids’ snacks or a special meal. Let’s get cooking!
Main Ingredients- 3 slices of pre-made Tonkatsu (frozen or refrigerated)
- A little cooking oil or olive oil (for spraying)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your pre-made tonkatsu. If using frozen tonkatsu, you can cook it directly without thawing. Lightly spray the surface of the tonkatsu with oil; this helps achieve an extra crispy texture. (If you don’t have a spray bottle, you can also lightly brush with olive oil.)
Step 2
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Place the oiled tonkatsu slices into the preheated air fryer and cook for 10 minutes. It’s a good idea to check on the tonkatsu halfway through to ensure it doesn’t burn.
Step 3
After 10 minutes, carefully flip the tonkatsu slices over. Continue to cook them for another 10 minutes at the same temperature of 180°C (350°F). Cooking both sides evenly ensures the inside is heated through and the outside is perfectly crisp.
Step 4
Your delicious, golden-brown tonkatsu is ready! It tastes best served hot. Enjoy your meal with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce – a real treat for kids!
