Basic Ingredients- 5 large eggs
- 1 can of spicy tuna (drained of excess oil)
- 3 Tbsp cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Crack 5 large eggs into a spacious bowl. Gently whisk the eggs, breaking the yolks and ensuring they are well combined. Aim for a smooth consistency without any lumps.
Step 2
Add 1/2 tsp of salt to the whisked eggs and mix thoroughly with a whisk or chopsticks. You can adjust the saltiness according to your preference. Try to mix gently to avoid creating too much foam.
Step 3
Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat. Add 3 Tbsp of cooking oil and tilt the pan to ensure the oil coats the entire surface evenly. Be careful not to overheat the oil.
Step 4
Carefully pour about one-third of the prepared egg mixture into the heated frying pan. Gently swirl the pan to spread the egg into a thin layer. Once the edges begin to set, move to the next step.
Step 5
Carefully lift the edge of the partially cooked egg and begin to roll it up. When about halfway rolled, gently push the rolled egg to one side of the pan. Pour another third of the egg mixture into the empty space, allowing it to spread and connect with the existing roll.
Step 6
While the omelet is cooking, gently mash about one-third of the drained spicy tuna and spread it evenly over the exposed surface of the egg. Ensure it’s distributed without large clumps.
Step 7
Gently continue to roll the omelet, encasing the tuna filling. Pour the remaining third of the egg mixture into the empty part of the pan. Cook until set, then roll the omelet again, carefully enclosing the tuna and the newly added egg layer. Work slowly to prevent the omelet from breaking.
Step 8
If the pan seems dry while the omelet is cooking, add a little more oil. Add the remaining spicy tuna and continue to roll the omelet until it’s fully enclosed. Cook over low heat until all the egg is set and the tuna inside is heated through.
Step 9
Transfer the finished Tuna & Chili Rolled Omelet to a cutting board. Let it cool slightly, then slice it into your desired thickness. Cutting it into neat pieces will showcase the tuna filling nicely and make it easier to eat.
Step 10
If you have any leftover egg mixture or tuna, repeat the process starting from step 3 to make additional omelets. Your delicious Dad’s Tuna & Chili Rolled Omelet is now complete! Enjoy your meal!
