Bread

  • 6 Morning buns (soft rolls)

Salad Filling Ingredients

  • 1/2 apple (cored)
  • 2 leaves of cabbage
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 2 boiled potatoes (prepared warm)
  • 3 Vienna sausages
  • 2 crab sticks or imitation crab meat

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare all the ingredients for the salad filling. Briefly blanch the Vienna sausages and crab sticks (or imitation crab meat) in hot water to remove any unwanted odor and make them cleaner to eat.

Step 1

Step 2

Thinly julienne the prepared apple, cabbage, and cucumber. Slice the Vienna sausages into bite-sized pieces. Shred the crab sticks or imitation crab meat with your hands; this helps them mix well with the dressing.

Step 2

Step 3

While the boiled potatoes are still warm, put on gloves and mash them with your hands. If you happen to have pre-boiled potatoes (perhaps from your child enjoying them with sugar), this step becomes even easier!

Step 3

Step 4

In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, all the julienned vegetables, and the shredded crab meat. Add 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of honey mustard sauce, and 1 tablespoon of corn syrup. Put on disposable gloves and mix everything thoroughly until well combined with the mayonnaise.

Step 4

Step 5

Using a bread knife or a regular knife, carefully slice the morning buns in half, leaving about a centimeter connected at the top. Spread a generous amount of strawberry jam on the inside of each bun. This adds a touch of sweetness that balances the richness of the salad.

Step 5

Step 6

Generously fill the jam-spread buns with the prepared potato salad filling. Don’t be shy – stuff them until they’re overflowing for the best taste! Finally, drizzle with ketchup if desired, or enjoy them as is. Your delicious potato salad bread rolls are now ready!
