Ingredients

  • 8 fresh eggs
  • 1 Tbsp coarse salt
  • 200ml water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, thoroughly wash the fresh eggs, which are the stars of this baked egg recipe. Washing them removes any dirt, ensuring a more hygienic and delicious final product.

Step 2

Next, dissolve 1 tablespoon of coarse salt in 200ml of water. This saltwater solution will help eliminate any eggy smell and impart a subtle seasoning to the eggs.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, prepare your electric rice cooker. Line the bottom of the rice cooker with 2-3 layers of kitchen towels. This acts as a cushion to prevent the eggs from cracking and helps distribute heat evenly.

Step 3

Step 4

Carefully place the washed eggs onto the kitchen towels. Try to leave some space between the eggs to prevent them from bumping into each other during cooking.

Step 4

Step 5

Gently pour the prepared saltwater over the eggs, being careful not to submerge them completely. Don’t worry if the water level seems low; we’ll be using the rice cooker’s ‘steam’ or ‘cook’ function.

Step 6

It’s time to operate the rice cooker. Select the ‘steam’ function if available, or use the regular ‘cook’ function otherwise. Repeat this cooking cycle a total of two times (for a total of 3 cooking cycles).

Step 6

Step 7

After completing the 3 cooking cycles in the rice cooker, your delicious baked eggs will be ready! As you can see in the picture, they will have a tempting brown color similar to the ‘Maekbanseok’ eggs sold commercially. Enjoy them warm right away, or let them cool for a delightful snack.
