  • Bean Sprouts 100g
  • 1 Onion (medium-sized)
  • 5 King Oyster Mushrooms
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 bowls of warm cooked rice

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 10 Tbsp Mirin (or cooking wine)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Ginger Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Tbsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • A pinch of Salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

This is my first time trying frozen beef blade steak, and I was very impressed with how delicious and tender it turned out. Using a fresh cut of beef will make this dish even more exceptional.

Step 1

Step 2

In a small saucepan, combine 5 Tbsp soy sauce, 10 Tbsp mirin (or cooking wine), 1/2 Tbsp ginger juice, 1 Tbsp sugar, and 1 Tbsp minced garlic. Gently heat over low flame, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves and the sauce is smooth.

Step 2

Step 3

Rinse the bean sprouts thoroughly and drain them well. Thinly slice 1 medium onion and julienne the 5 king oyster mushrooms. Prepare all your ingredients for cooking.

Step 3

Step 4

Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add the beef, sliced onion, and julienned mushrooms, and stir-fry quickly. Cooking over high heat for a short time helps to lock in the juices and enhance the flavor.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the beef and vegetables are partially cooked, add the prepared bean sprouts to the skillet. Stir-fry briskly to ensure the bean sprouts remain crisp and don’t become mushy.

Step 5

Step 6

Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet, mixing well to coat all the ingredients evenly. Just before turning off the heat, sprinkle in 1/2 Tbsp black pepper to add an aromatic touch as the bean sprouts become tender.

Step 6

Step 7

Heat a separate non-stick pan over medium heat with a little cooking oil. Crack in the 2 eggs. As the edges begin to set, sprinkle a pinch of salt over the eggs and cook to your desired doneness. A runny yolk is especially delicious with this donburi.

Step 7

Step 8

Serve the warm rice in two bowls, sprinkling toasted sesame seeds on top. Arrange the savory beef and vegetable mixture and the fried egg attractively over the rice. Your flavorful and satisfying Beef Blade Steak Donburi is ready to be enjoyed!
