Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack pre-seasoned Inari sushi pockets (includes tofu pouches, seasoning syrup, and rice mix)
  • Approx. 100g Spam or similar luncheon meat
  • A little cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Finely dice the Spam or luncheon meat into small cubes, about 0.5 cm. Cutting them into bite-sized pieces will make them easier to eat, especially for children.

Step 1

Step 2

Lightly grease a pan with cooking oil. Over medium-low heat, sauté the diced Spam until it’s golden brown and slightly crispy. This process renders some of the fat, enhancing its savory aroma.

Step 2

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of warm cooked rice (about 400g). Add the sautéed Spam, and the seasoning syrup and rice mix that came with the Inari sushi kit.

Step 3

Step 4

Gently mix all the ingredients with a spatula or spoon, being careful not to mash the rice grains. Ensure the Spam and seasoning are evenly distributed throughout the rice for the best flavor. Lightly squeeze out excess liquid from the tofu pouches before filling; this prevents the sushi from becoming too watery.

Step 4

Step 5

Carefully fill each seasoned tofu pouch with the prepared rice mixture, pressing gently to shape. Your delicious Spam Inari sushi rolls are now complete! For an extra touch, you can add a dash of sesame oil or sprinkle some sesame seeds on top before serving.
