Main Ingredients- 1 zucchini (approx. 262g)
- 1/4 onion (approx. 32g)
- 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the zucchini thoroughly under running water. Trim off both ends, then cut it in half lengthwise. Slice it into thin half-moon shapes, about 5mm thick. Slicing them not too thick will help them absorb seasoning well and cook faster.
Step 2
Thinly slice the onion into strips about 3mm thick. Finely chop the green onion. Measure out 0.5 Tbsp of minced garlic and set it aside.
Step 3
Add the prepared zucchini and 2.5 Tbsp of cooking oil to a stir-fry pan. Turn the heat to medium and stir-fry the zucchini. This usually takes about 3-4 minutes, depending on your stove’s heat.
Step 4
While stir-frying, occasionally toss the zucchini. Continue until the zucchini’s color deepens and the slices begin to curl slightly. This indicates they are perfectly cooked.
Step 5
Once the zucchini is sufficiently cooked, add 0.5 tsp of salt and gently mix. It’s best to add a little less salt initially and adjust later if needed, as adding too much at once can make it too salty.
Step 6
Now, add the sliced onion and minced garlic to the pan and stir-fry them together. Cooking until the onions become translucent will create a delicious harmony with the zucchini.
Step 7
After stir-frying all ingredients, taste the dish one last time. If it feels like it needs more seasoning, add a little more salt at this point to achieve your desired taste.
Step 8
Add the prepared chopped green onion and stir-fry briefly. As soon as you smell the aroma of the green onions, turn off the heat. Overcooking the green onions can make them mushy.
Step 9
Finally, garnish the beautifully plated stir-fried zucchini with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Your delicious stir-fried zucchini, full of flavor even without shrimp paste, is now complete! Enjoy it with a warm bowl of rice.
