Deliciously Fluffy French Toast (No Milk Needed!)
Achieve Moist and Flavorful French Toast Without Milk
Here’s a simple French toast recipe you can easily make with ingredients you already have at home. It boasts a wonderfully soft texture and sweet flavor, and is especially practical as it turns out delicious even without milk. Highly recommended as a snack for kids or a brunch option!
Main Ingredients- 3 large eggs
- 4 slices of bread (slightly stale bread works best)
- Pinch of salt
- Sugar to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, crack 3 large eggs. Add a pinch of salt and 1-2 teaspoons of sugar (increase sugar if you prefer it sweeter). For an enhanced aroma, you can add a little vanilla extract or cinnamon powder. Whisk gently with a fork until all ingredients are well combined. Ensure there are no streaks of egg white. For an even smoother texture, you can strain the egg mixture through a fine-mesh sieve.
Step 2
Dip each slice of bread into the prepared egg mixture, coating both sides. Avoid soaking the bread for too long, as it can become soggy. Aim for about 20-30 seconds per side, allowing the bread to absorb the mixture gently. This will result in moist and tender French toast.
Step 3
Heat 1 teaspoon of butter (or cooking oil) in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, carefully place the egg-coated bread slices into the pan. Be mindful of the heat; if the pan is too hot, the outside may burn before the inside is cooked through.
Step 4
Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until each side is golden brown and beautifully toasted. Flip carefully to ensure even cooking. Once cooked, sprinkle with powdered sugar to your liking, or serve immediately with honey, maple syrup, fresh fruits, or any other favorite toppings. Enjoy your warm, delicious French toast!
