Deliciously Tangy and Sweet Seasoned Laver Salad
Easy Seasoned Laver Salad with Seasonal Ingredients
Introducing a recipe for a refreshingly tangy and sweet seasoned laver salad, made quickly with seasonal laver. It’s perfect as a side dish for rice when your appetite is low, and it also makes an elegant addition to your table for special occasions. The combination of chewy laver and crisp radish, along with the sweet and sour dressing, will awaken your taste buds. Make it easily at home and fully enjoy the charm of fresh laver!
Main Ingredients- 3 bunches of fresh laver
- 1 small radish
- 3 cloves of garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the laver thoroughly and gently squeeze out all excess water. Peel the radish and slice it thinly into matchsticks. Mince the garlic. Have all your ingredients prepped and ready for cooking.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the julienned radish with 1 Tbsp salt and 1 Tbsp sugar. Gently mix them together. Then, add 2 Tbsp vinegar and 1 Tbsp plum extract. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes. This step will slightly soften the radish and infuse it with sweetness and tanginess, enhancing its flavor.
Step 3
While the radish is marinating, finely mince the garlic. Rinse the laver again under running water and squeeze out the moisture very well. Even if you’ve squeezed it before, squeezing it again ensures the salad won’t be watery.
Step 4
After marinating, gently drain any excess liquid from the radish. Add the prepped laver to the bowl. Pour in 1 Tbsp of soup soy sauce. Gently mix everything together with your hands until well combined. Be careful not to break the delicate laver.
Step 5
Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning with additional soup soy sauce or vinegar according to your preference. I added a little more for a tangier and sweeter profile. The natural liquid from the radish makes this seasoned laver salad moist and perfectly crisp. Enjoy this healthy and delicious side dish made with fresh ingredients!
