I absolutely love salmon and often cook it at home. Today, we’re making a flavorful salmon donburi that’s sure to whet your appetite. The combination of tender salmon, a sweet and tangy sauce, and crisp vegetables makes for a wonderful meal.

  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 handful scallions (about 10-15 stalks)
  • Fresh wasabi, to taste (optional)

Special Soy Sauce Dressing

  • 6 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 5 Tbsp water
  • 2.5 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar

First, peel the onion and wash it thoroughly. Then, slice it into the thinnest possible julienne strips. Thinly sliced onions absorb the sauce better and provide a pleasant texture.

Wash the scallions, trim the roots, and finely chop them. These will add a lovely aroma.

In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, water, sugar, and rice vinegar. Stir well to mix. Place over low heat and stir gently with a wooden spoon until the sugar is completely dissolved.
