Main Ingredients

  • 6 slices of bread (slightly thicker slices work best)
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Cut the 6 slices of bread into about 5 bite-sized pieces each. Aim for pieces slightly larger than a single bite, as very small pieces might crumble after cooking.

Step 1

Step 2

In a clean plastic bag or zip-top bag, combine the 5 Tbsp granulated sugar and 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon. Seal the bag tightly and shake gently to ensure the sugar and cinnamon are well mixed.

Step 2

Step 3

Melt 1 Tbsp of butter in a wide pan over low heat. Be careful not to burn the butter, and ensure it thinly coats the entire surface of the pan.

Step 3

Step 4

Place the cut bread pieces into the pan with the melted butter over low heat. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent burning. Toast the bread slices, flipping them occasionally, until they are golden brown and slightly crispy. Achieving a nice crisp exterior will help the sugar coating adhere better and enhance the flavor.

Step 4

Step 5

Immediately transfer the warm, toasted bread pieces into the bag with the prepared cinnamon sugar mixture. Seal the bag securely and shake well. This process coats the warm bread evenly with the cinnamon sugar. Coating while warm helps the sugar stick better.
