Easy Brownie Mix: Gourmet vs. Classic Version
Make Two Delicious Flavors of Brownies Quickly with a Mix
Using a store-bought brownie mix, let’s create two delightful brownie variations: a gourmet version enriched with milk and chopped nuts, and a classic version made simply with water. These are guaranteed to be your child’s favorite snack!
Basic Ingredients
- Brownie Mix 320g
- Water 55ml
- Powdered Sugar, a little (for dusting)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare two bags of brownie mix. Using a commercial mix makes it convenient to achieve delicious brownies without complex steps.
Step 2
For the gourmet version, get your walnuts and almonds ready. Finely chop them using a knife or a nut chopper. You can also add other nuts like pecans or dried fruits according to your preference for a unique brownie.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, add one bag (160g) of brownie mix and the finely chopped walnuts and almonds. Pour in 55ml of milk to add richness, and begin mixing the batter.
Step 4
The amount of milk might seem insufficient at first, but as you start mixing, it will quickly transform into a thick and rich brownie batter. Ensure it’s mixed thoroughly.
Step 5
Prepare a microwave-safe dish (a 15cm x 15cm size is recommended). Lining the bottom and sides of the dish with parchment paper (like those used for air fryers) makes it easy to remove the finished brownie and simplifies cleanup. You can use any suitable rectangular dish you have at home.
Step 6
Pour the prepared batter into the dish. Use a spatula or spoon to spread the batter evenly, creating a flat surface. This ensures the brownie bakes uniformly.
Step 7
Place the batter-filled dish into the microwave and cook for about 4 minutes. (Adjust the cooking time based on your microwave’s wattage.) After 4 minutes, your delicious gourmet brownie will be ready!
Step 8
Now, let’s make the second, classic version. Place one bag (160g) of brownie mix into a bowl and mix it with 55ml of water, following the standard instructions on the package. Then, bake it in the microwave (based on 700W) for about 4 minutes.
Step 9
Both brownie versions have been cooled for about 1 hour after cooking. The one on the left is the gourmet version with milk and nuts, and the one on the right is the classic version made with water. Visually, they look quite similar, but there are subtle differences in taste.
Step 10
Dust the brownies with powdered sugar for decoration, then cut them with a knife. You can see the chopped nuts embedded in the cross-section of the gourmet brownie. I’m curious to taste the difference!
Step 11
Let’s compare the flavors. The gourmet version with milk and nuts is exceptional with its nutty aroma and smooth texture. On the other hand, the classic version made only with water offers a chewier, more intense chocolate flavor. Both versions have their own unique charm, and ultimately, both are delicious!
Step 12
Enjoy your sweet brownie time with a warm cup of coffee or tea, or whenever you crave a treat. Choose your favorite brownie, whether it’s the gourmet or the classic, based on your mood and preference, and savor your delightful dessert moment.
