Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the beef brisket. If using thinly sliced brisket, cut it into approximately 5cm (2-inch) pieces. This will make it easier to stuff into the buns and to eat.
Step 2
Wash the onion thoroughly and thinly slice it. For the cabbage, use the larger outer leaves, and cut them into roughly 2-3cm (1-inch) square pieces.
Step 3
Thaw the frozen cocktail shrimp by placing them in cold water until the ice has melted. Once thawed, drain them well using a colander.
Step 4
Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry until they become translucent. Then, add the chopped cabbage and continue to stir-fry until the cabbage is tender-crisp.
Step 5
In a separate pot, bring a generous amount of water to a boil. Add the yakisoba noodles and cook according to the package instructions, typically for 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to overcook, as they can become mushy.
Step 6
Drain the noodles. In the pan used for the vegetables, add the cut beef brisket and cook until browned. When the beef is almost done, add the stir-fried vegetables back into the pan and mix them together.
Step 7
Add the thawed shrimp to the pan with the beef and vegetables and cook until pink. In a separate small bowl, mix together 1 Tbsp soy sauce and 1.5 Tbsp oyster sauce to create the yakisoba sauce. Add the cooked yakisoba noodles to the pan and toss well to coat everything evenly with the sauce.
Step 8
Prepare your baguette or ciabatta by slicing it lengthwise, creating a pocket. If using sandwich bread, you can press it flat with a rolling pin. The goal is to create space inside the bread for the yakisoba filling.
Step 9
Generously fill the hollowed-out bread with the freshly stir-fried yakisoba mixture. Finish by sprinkling a generous amount of Parmesan cheese and parsley flakes over the top to your liking. Your delicious Beef Brisket Yakisoba Buns are now ready to enjoy!
