Main Ingredients- 1 sheet Nori (seaweed)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 can Spam or Luncheon Meat
- 1 bowl Rice (warm cooked rice)
- Pinch of Salt
- A little Cooking Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the nori sheet in half lengthwise using a kitchen knife or scissors and set aside. Lightly grease a pan with cooking oil, whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt, and cook them into a thin omelet. Once almost cooked, fold the omelet in half to create a thicker layer. Drain the can of Spam or luncheon meat and slice it into pieces roughly the same size as the egg omelet. Pan-fry the slices on both sides until golden brown. Cut the fried Spam to match the size of the egg omelet.
Step 2
Line a musubi mold (or a rice cooker lid, bento box, etc.) with the prepared nori sheet. Evenly spread a layer of warm rice inside the mold. Place the prepared egg omelet on top of the rice, followed by the fried Spam slices. Cover with another thin layer of rice. Place the lid of the mold on top and press down firmly with your hands or a spatula to compact the ingredients and shape the musubi.
Step 3
Carefully remove the shaped musubi from the mold. Place the rice block onto the prepared nori sheet. Tightly wrap the nori around the rice block. To secure the nori, you can lightly moisten the edge with water or rely on the stickiness of the rice. Slice the musubi into desired portions for serving. Your delicious Hawaiian Musubi is now ready!
