Ingredients- Leftover Japchae, 200g (cold)
- Eggs, 2
- Chopped Green Onions, 2 Tbsp (approx. 10-15g)
- Oyster Sauce, 1/2 Tbsp
- Salt, 1/3 tsp
- Cooking Oil, for frying
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place the leftover japchae from the holiday in a large bowl. If the noodles are long, use scissors or a knife to cut them into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 cm long. This makes it easier to mix evenly and shape into dumplings.
Step 2
Add the 2 eggs to the chopped japchae. Also, add the 2 tablespoons of chopped green onions. Gently mix these ingredients with your hands, ensuring the japchae, eggs, and green onions are well combined.
Step 3
Add 1/3 teaspoon of salt to the mixture. You can adjust the amount of salt based on your taste. It’s a good idea to taste the mixture before adding more salt, as the japchae might already be seasoned.
Step 4
Next, add 1/2 tablespoon of oyster sauce to enhance the flavor. Oyster sauce adds umami, significantly boosting the taste of your japchae dumplings. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
Step 5
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Spoon the japchae mixture onto the pan and spread it thinly into flat, round shapes. Making them thin ensures they cook through evenly; avoid making them too thick. Pan-fry on both sides until golden brown.
Step 6
Once the japchae mixture is golden brown, carefully fold each piece in half to create a half-moon shape, resembling dumplings. This makes them easy to handle and eat. Briefly pan-fry each side again until crispy. Your delicious pan-fried japchae dumplings are now ready! Enjoy them while they’re hot!
