Using a Standard Measuring Cup
  • 1.5 cups rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 packet ramyeon (instant noodles)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash 1.5 cups of rice thoroughly and then soak it in water for about 20 minutes. Soaking the rice helps to make the cooked rice softer and more delicious.

Step 2

Place the soaked rice into a pot. Add 2 cups of water, which is 1.5 times the amount of rice. It’s important to adjust the water ratio correctly; not too much and not too little, to ensure perfectly cooked rice. Getting the water balance right is key to a delicious meal.

Step 3

Once the water level is set, add the ramyeon packet and its seasoning powder to the pot. Stir everything together well. Then, close the lid tightly. Adding the seasoning first helps distribute the flavor evenly throughout the rice.

Step 4

Now, let’s cook! Start on high heat for 5 minutes, then reduce to medium heat and cook for another 5 minutes. Lee Seung-yoon cooked for 5 minutes on high and 5 on medium before letting it steam. However, to be sure it was fully cooked and not underdone, I decided to cook it on low heat for an additional 3 minutes. Finally, turn off the heat and let it steam for 5 minutes. This completes your flavorful Ramyeon-Bap. Steaming allows the rice grains to become perfectly chewy and tasty.
