This Kale & Yogurt Smoothie has been a daily morning ritual for my husband’s liver health for the past 18 years. I started this practice with the belief that blending the entire kale leaf, rather than just juicing it, offers greater health benefits. It’s been nearly two decades since then! I’m delighted to share this well-loved recipe, a staple in our home for boosting vitality.

Main Ingredients

  • Fresh Kale leaves 150g
  • Yogurt (plain or flavored) 2 bottles
  • Vinegar a few drops

Cooking Instructions

Begin by preparing the kale for thorough cleaning. Fill a bowl with water and add a few drops of vinegar. Submerge the kale leaves in this mixture for about 5 minutes. This step is crucial for effectively removing any residual pesticides or impurities that might be present on the leaves.

After soaking, remove the kale from the vinegar-water solution and rinse it thoroughly under running cold water until clean. Gently pat it dry or shake off excess water. Then, tear or cut the kale leaves into manageable pieces, about 3-4 cm in size, to make them easier to blend. If the stems are particularly tough, you might consider removing them for a smoother texture.

Place the prepared kale leaves and the 2 bottles of yogurt into your blender. If needed, depending on your blender’s capacity and the amount of kale, you can add a small amount of water to achieve your desired consistency. Secure the blender lid tightly and blend for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until the kale is completely smooth and well incorporated. Your delicious and healthy Kale & Yogurt Smoothie is ready!
